Skydivers today have a choice in the Automatic Activation Device (AAD) to have installed in their reserve container as a backup safety device. An AAD cuts the reserve container closing loop if the skydiver is exceeding a set speed at a set altitude.

In this video we cover the 3 main brands we can find on the market right now: Cypres 2, Vigil Cuatro & MarS m2.

Find more info about those AADs on Chuting Star's website:

Vigil Cuatro: http://bit.ly/2K8aSrC
MarS Multi m2: http://bit.ly/2trjOCb

Keep in mind that those units are all made for 1 purpose: cut the reserve closing loop if a skydiver is exceeding a set speed at a set altitude. And unless small differences, they are all good to do just that. ;) It’s then a matter of choice…

Here is a small recap.

  • They all do the same thing. But the cheapest one. More money doesn’t get you more safety here, just more space in your wallet.
