DropZone Closed its doors

Have you ever had an itch to travel, or just needed a break from your dropzone? Maybe you just want to see what else is out there in this huge world we live in. Well, Skydive Delmarva Inc. is a must! Located in Delaware, around 1 hr from Ocean City Maryland and 4 hrs from NY, the roads are open and the drive is fun. Skydive Delmarva is a medium size drop zone with a strong family feel and let me tell you this, they know how to party! From the moment you arrive, you will have people reaching out to say hi and asking if you need any assistance setting up your camp or just asking you to immediately join in some sort of fun that is brewing. Pack your car and and make sure to check them out.  I hope you enjoy Delmarva as much as we do, PussFoot is on site often so make sure to come out and jump with a member of the team.

Driving in:

We at Pussfoot love taking road trips. Road trips give us the opportunity to meet amazing people and visit new drop zones. Having our own car on a skydiving adventure gives us a sense of safety and an additional place to store belongings. So if you are like us and are going to drive there are some things to know.

*Use Waze - this will route you around traffic and show you all of the police. This app should save you some time on your journey.

*If you are coming from the NE let's say New York - trust me stay on 95 unless Waze tells you to exit. Just like Mom Waze knows best!

*Do you really need to bring that? Pack light, you are still in America and can stop to get whatever you need.

*Get a BP rewards card. You will earn $ 0.10 off a gallon for every 20 you buy. * There are BP gas stations all the way down. This last trip I saved over $50.00 in fuel using one. ( I cannot stress this car enough! I have saved thousands of dollars over the last three years. Link )

*Remember to take breaks, switch drivers and stay hydrated and fueled up. The most important part of any road trip is enjoying the journey, no need to rush!

Arriving at DZ:

So you made it! Do you know where you are staying? Do not forget to check in to the Manifest when they are open so you can fill out you waver and be given an orientation. If you will be arriving after hrs, make sure to let management know you will be late. If you are camping make sure to visit the manifest when you wake up to check in.
My advice would be to stay at the DZ for your trip. Every night brings the chance for some fun. From the clubhouse - shooting pool with some epic people to drinks in the quad, Delmarva have a good amount of fun for everyone.

5 stars + *****

Open field with with shade, RV’s welcome.

If bringing your RV please call ahead to let them know and assign you a spot!

Campfire (yes) -please use fire pit located by RV sites, its huge!

* All of the people will welcome you to their sites as if you were family

Cooking (yes)

The DZ has wood but if you like, you can get bundles of wood from Tractor supply located just up the road for $5.00 a bundle. You can also ask a local for the scoop on pallets.

Two private bathrooms are located just off to the right of the packing hangar. They are well kept and cleaned every morning, or as needed. Both have ample space to change and clean up after a long day of fun.

Delmarva also has porta potties located on site for when you just cant hold it and more.

* Just past the RV parking you will see a wooden shed. 2 outdoor showers are located here and the hot water is steller. If you can't find them just ask and someone will point it out, these showers are the editors choice.

*Be kind and clean up after yourself. We are all adults and being a slob is just not cool for the next person who needs to use the facilities :-)

 These were super clean

Below you will find a map of Skydive Delmarva.  Look for the red arrow that says Camping area. Just pull in and set up your tent, I have also marked the RV area. Be mindful to stay behind the Beer line, this is an active airport and the last thing you need is to set up your tent on the grass runway. If it is late try to be quiet because there may be people trying to sleep.  You will also find the bathroom marked on Map. (There are no locks on the bathrooms and they are kept clean so please do your part to keep them that way). * I found that this tent city is extremely safe, nothing was stolen. There is always someone watching out for your gear.  With that being said you never know who might not be part of the Skydive Code. So take care to lock up whatever you can and be mindful of your stuff. Need a tent and or camping supplies, don't forget that an unnamed large have it all store is located nearby and has an unconditional 90 day return policy.

*I recommend staying at the DZ, However if you need a hotel here is the link.

Always some sort of fun to be had

Rent a room:

My go to for rooms or home to rend as always is Airbnb

Things to see:

Ok so this is Delaware, and I found the weather to be extremely odd. Storms to the right storms to the left but blue above (do not listen to the weather man), with that being said it will rain at some point. So what do you do on a weather hold?  Well if you think you are done for the day feel free to grab a Beer. However, if you think the day could be saved and want to keep jumping here are a few things to do.

* Ask manifest for ideas they are full of info!

This is one of many beaches in the area, a quick google search will provide you with ample ideas.

  This place is huge

In closing Pussfoot had an amazing time at Skydive Delmarva. Although we were there for only three days, we were able to meet some amazing people and get in some steller jumps ( Make sure to swing by the Curry boys trailer and tell them Brian says hi).  From the Staff to the fun jumpers, the vibe is amazing. This Dropzone will remain on my to do’s every year. In the end it's the people and memories we have made that count and this dropzone is sure to provide plenty. Don't forget that Skydive Delmarva hosts the Jump for Valor boogie every August. Thank you for reading, if you feel that we left something out or would like to contribute to this guide please email us at the address provided below.
